Menopause is something every woman will face, yet for many Black women, the journey comes with added challenges that often go unspoken. This fall, two innovative brands, Black Girl Vitamins and Jayla Health, are working to change that reality. In celebration of Menopause Awareness Month, the partnership is offering free virtual doctor consultations for hundreds of Black women across New York, California, and Florida.
The collaboration builds on Black Girl Vitamins’ signature hormonal health supplement, Meno-Chill, which was designed to address symptoms such as hot flashes, mood changes, and sleep disturbances. It reflects both companies’ shared mission to close long-standing health gaps that affect Black women. “Black Girl Vitamins’ mission is to improve health outcomes for Black women, and far too often, Black women are navigating menopause earlier, more intensely, and longer with fewer resources,” said Jennifer Juma, Chief Strategy Officer of Black Girl Vitamins. “We are hopeful that this initiative will give more access to quality care and support to lower the health disparities within our community.”
For many Black women, menopause symptoms are more severe and last longer than those experienced by other groups. Hot flashes, insomnia, and depression are common, yet too often these concerns are minimized or misdiagnosed. That’s where Jayla Health steps in. As a Black woman-founded hormonal health startup, the company focuses on addressing these systemic inequities through telehealth and personalized care. “At Jayla, we understand that Black women’s symptoms are commonly dismissed as stress or aging,” said Antonia Walters, Co-Founder of Jayla Health. “This is due to an inequitable system that delays care and raises health risks. By calling this out and creating solutions that center Black women, we can deliver the highest standard of care.”
The partnership moves beyond supplements and doctor visits. It seeks to open up meaningful conversations about menopause, self-care, and community. By providing resources, education, and accessible telehealth options, both brands are helping women view this stage of life not as something to endure, but as something to embrace. Participants can visit BlackGirlVitamins.co to schedule a virtual appointment, complete a health intake form, and receive personalized care plans that include expert advice, lifestyle recommendations, and prescriptions when needed.
