UCLA Anderson School of Management announced that award-winning actress, producer, and media entrepreneur Issa Rae will receive the 2025 Game Changer Award for her contributions to the media, entertainment, and sports industries. Rae will be honored at the school’s Pulse Entertainment, Sports & Technology Conference on May 15.

The Game Changer Award recognizes leaders who are driving innovation, advancing representation, and shaping the future of their industries. Rae is being celebrated for her impactful storytelling and business leadership through projects that center underrepresented voices and redefine cultural narratives.

Known for her critically acclaimed HBO series Insecure and her breakout digital series The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, Rae has expanded her influence through Hoorae Media, her production and media company. She also launched the music label Raedio and has built partnerships spanning tech, beauty, and entrepreneurship.

The Pulse Conference will include panels, keynotes, and discussions with leading executives and creatives across entertainment, media, sports, and technology.
